Biography

Forever in Transit is a songwriting project led by Dan Sciolino, featuring a collective of musicians from the Buffalo, NY area. The band blends progressive rock, metal, jazz, and electronic music all into one unique sound. Forever in Transit was inspired by many bands across the progressive rock and metal spectrum. Some of their favorite artists include Cynic, Haken, Porcupine Tree, and Mastodon.

In 2018, they released their debut album "States of Disconnection" which they describe as being rooted in the theme of connectivity. What the band means by that is how we engage the world around us as well as our sense of identity, community and how we view our reality.  In 2019, the band released a single titled "Re:Connection".  The two tracks featured on the single were written while the band was finishing their debut album.

Forever in Transit's most recent release came in 2024 when they released their second studio album "A Coming to Terms", Dan Sciolino who is the drummer, keyboardist and band leader describes the concept of the album as this...

" The difficulty of separating our concept of “self” and outside influences, and ultimately growth and the trials we go through to become the best version of ourselves.  Lyrically, I explored many different perspectives of philosophy and spirituality as reference points.  I wanted to find a balance between the positives of self-discovery and growth, but while respecting the trauma that we often have to weather to get there." - Dan Sciolino in an email to Prog Universe.

As of now, the band continues to write new music as well as play shows in and around the Buffalo area.
