Space Kitchen

Space Kitchen is a progressive rock band formed in 2023 in Cambridge Ontario. Space Kitchen's sound can be described as an interesting blend of classic 70s progressive rock with garage rock.  Rob Howell the bands keyboardist, rhythm guitar player and vocalist says that two of their biggest inspirations are Rush and Billy Joel. The love for those two artists can be heard in Space Kitchen's music.

The band has stated that "Space Kitchen is what happens when you modernize 1970's rock band sensibilities with modern DIY possibilities". That being said Space Kitchen will take you on a musical adventure that will keep you captivated from beginning to end with their musical imagination and whimsical lyrics.

In 2023 the band released their first EP titled Space Kitchen. The EP was highly praised upon release. Many regard it as "fresh, fun and intelligent" as well as a great way to spend half an hour.

Recently Space Kitchen released their debut album Space Kitchen which was released on September October 2nd, 2026.  The album has captivated audiences because of its high-level musicianship featuring spine-tingling pianos and rippin' guitars. Lyrically the album is on par with some of the most influential progressive rock albums from the 1970s and the lyrics transport you to different places and make you feel many different moods, mostly happy of course. The album contains the nine best tracks from their previous EP's, and the band has continued to refine and evolve their sound since they formed in 2023.

As of now I can't think of another band in this modern age of prog that sounds remotely close to Space Kitchen and that's a good thing. They truly make interesting, unique and remarkable music. They should be voted the best new band coming out of the great country of Canada.

Currently the band is getting ready to play their first live show on October 31st, 2026, at The Union in Kitchener, Ontario and future shows are also being planned.
